COACHING

Songkraft coaching begins with a 90-minute session every other week, offered either in person at the Edmonton studio or online through a professional, music-friendly conferencing system. Whether you study in the studio or from across the country, the standards, expectations, and coaching process remain the same.

Note:  During the COVID-19 pandemic, all instruction moved online. The results were so successful that many singers, despite living in Edmonton, have continued with online coaching.

New students are welcomed throughout the year as space permits. The first step is a complimentary preliminary session.  There is no obligation—only an opportunity to explore whether the approach resonates with you.

Your coach must be a good fit for you. You won't learn well from people you don't like and respect.  The best way to find out whether you have a match is to set up a meeting, take the time to understand how the coaching works, and then decide.

You are trusting your future to the relationship, so it's a good idea to take the time to choose a coach who will provide what you need.  Who will coach you is one of the most important decisions a singer can make.

Technique matters. Musicianship matters. Experience matters. But so does the quality of the learning process itself. Choose a coach who helps you understand not only what to improve, but how improvement happens. Those are the lessons that remain with you long after the music has ended.
